I AM A MEDIATOR AND A TRANSLATOR. I HAVE PRACTICED CORPORATE LAW FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, IN TOP-TIER LAW FIRMS, DURING WHICH TIME I ACQUIRED A STRONG BACKGROUND IN DOMESTIC AND TRANSNATIONAL DEALS. I HAVE REPRESENTED BRAZILIAN AND FOREIGN COMPANIES IN MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS, CROSS-BORDER FINANCING, AND A VARIETY OF CORPORATE MATTERS, IN ADDITION TO TAX LAW.

Currently I am also a private commercial mediator and a judicial mediator at the Court of Appeals of Rio de Janeiro, where I act particularly in Business Courts matters. I have also developed a steady career as a legal and business translator, having among my clients some of the most important law firms in Brazil and domestic and multinational companies.

I hold an LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School, New York, a graduate degree in Corporate Law from Candido Mendes University, Rio de Janeiro, and an LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC-RJ. I am trained in mediation of conflicts by the American Arbitration Association – AAA, by CBMA – Brazilian Center of Mediation and Arbitration, and by the National Council of Justice of Brazil/Court of Appeals of Rio de Janeiro. I have studied legal English at Columbia University and translation at the Daniel Brilhante de Brito school. After obtaining my LL.M., I worked as foreign associate in a New York law firm.

I am a certified mediator by ICFML – Portuguese-Speaking Mediators’ Training and Accreditation Institute and by the Court of Appeals of Rio de Janeiro, member of the Mediation Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter (OAB/RJ), where I co-coordinate a working group, and member of the mediators’ panel of OAB/RJ. I am also affiliated with the Brazilian Arbitration Commitee – CBAr and member of the Study Group on Private Commercial Mediation – GEMEP, where I co-coordinate the Rio de Janeiro regional subgroup. Since 2017 I have been acting as judge in CAMARB’s Mediation Moot Competition.
